The Division Bench of Justice Anu Sivaraman and Justice K S Bharath Kumar imposed ₹2,000 in costs on the State Finance Department for repeated failure to file objections in a PIL filed by BJP MLA Jagadeesh Shivayya Gudagunti. The PIL alleges discriminatory allocation of funds under the Chief Minister's Infrastructure Development Programme, claiming ruling party constituencies received ₹50 crore each while opposition constituencies received ₹25 crore each. The court granted a final two-week opportunity to file objections and warned it would pass orders in favor of the petitioner if the State fails to respond.
